Born on a ship in the harbor of Tsingtao, China, Alison has never had a conventional life or career. Her resume includes long distance telephone operator, magazine editor, high school art teacher, shoe salesman, Assistant College Development Director, Sports Information Secretary, grocery clerk, and ordained minister. Since her ordination in 1993, Alison has served churches in Minnesota and South Dakota (a Tri-Parish), North Gorham, Maine, Harrisville, NH and as a Transitional Minister of the United Church of Winchester, NH and in Bellows Falls, VT. She also served for five years as the part-time pastor of the Lovell United Church of Christ in Center Lovell, Maine. Alison is the mother of two adopted sons, two stepsons and a stepdaughter and a foster son. She also has nine grandchildren. She and her husband, Denis, reside in Montpelier.
